(Quick Tip: Remember the little keyboard trick:  Hold down the Cntrol key while you press the PLUS (+) key a few times to get the screen text enlarged.)
A lot of organizations have websites just full of information.. so that is where you need to get your "further education", to learn about "possibilities", always with the co-ordinated input from your doctor, of course.
Click on the links below:National Association for Visually Handicapped  This site has information about many different causes of visual impairment, a Lending Library of Large Print Books, and a catalog of many items to purchase.
LVC This site has a quarterly Newsletter to keep you informed, and a LOT of other links.
Assistive Tech  This site offers grants to help pay for that VERY expensive equipment that could make a big difference in the quality of your life.
There are a LOT of products to help..
Big Screen Live is different. It is a combination browser, email and photo gallery program/membership that can be set up by your family, and they can add photos, and site links to it for you to see. It has enlarged text, and is virus-protected. There's a 30 day free trial, so sign up for an account to give it a try.
Have you found a great assistive product that has helped you with your particular challenges to using a computer? Perhaps a really good magnifier, or program, a new mouse for arthritic hands, a really visible keyboard.. you know what I mean.
I know you'd like to share your experience so others can get the accessibility they need to learn to love their computers!
