This is really computer help for everyone, where you can get friendly help to understand more about your computer and ways to really enjoy it. Even people who have been using computers for quite a while, have found tips they could use.

Here's a most important TIP: If you need the text to be larger, hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard, and at the same time, press the + (plus) key.

There's NO LIMIT to what you can learn.
Plus, it's FUN and stimulates our brains,
which actually helps us to live better and longer.

Computers have done all that and more for me.. and I want to share it with you, as I do with those I teach at our Beginning Computer Classes. (You don't have to be "old" but it does make it more exciting!)

Trying to learn something new has a "downside":

You start out excited about it, but then it starts to get frustrating. You WANT to do it, but it isn't as easy as it used to be. (Heard that one before)? I can help.
Getting computer help from a book can be confusing.
It takes time and determination. I know I can make it easier for you.

Other problems?, our physical difficulties, such as...

There are several sites that do a great job giving computer help for beginners, and I'll recommend them to you with links to them. You'll even find them fun.

Clicking on a link is similar to turning the page in a book. It takes you to a different page.
However, it might even take you to a different website, so before you do,

How do I do that??

Lesson #1:

HOW TO MARK A "FAVORITE" (or "Bookmark"):

There are two ways to do this. Choose one.

At the top of the Window is a Menu Bar which reads across, "File, Edit, View, Favorites..."
1. Using your left mouse button, click on "Favorites"
2. In the Popup box, click on "Add To"
3. then click on "ADD" to make it happen, and it's done.
OR
Look for the gold star with a Plus sign, and click on it.

NOTE: Most things on the computer don't really happen until you click a "Done", "Finish" or a "Save" button.

How do I find it again?

When you click on the simple gold star, or click on the Favorites button up at the top menu, you could see a list of sites already on the list. If you added it, you can see this one listed at the bottom. After you go to use other sites, just click there to come back. Try it now.

If you're brand new to this computer world, you need to start with the page called First to learn how to use the mouse and the keyboard. It isn't just a typewriter, and every one of all those keys has a purpose!

Then, you need to understand the basics of how to use Windows. This will take you through learning the Windows terms, using the Start button menu, how to shut it down correctly and the maintenance required. This is not a delicate machine, but it is a complicated one, and requires routine maintenance to keep it operating.

Of course, you'll want to learn all you can about the basics of the Internet. Here you will learn about a Browser, How to Search, about Financial Safety on the Web, how to customize your Home Page, and how a lot of people are earning extra income from the Web.
